Thursday, April 9, 4 p.m. – Learn German Papercutting with the Ephrata Cloister Student Historians. Scherenschnitte, which means “scissor cuts” in German, is the art of papercutting. The art of cutting intricate designs into paper has a long history and has appeared in many different cultures – including the Pennsylvania Dutch! For this program, the Cloister’s Student Historians will help you create your very own Scherenschnitte masterpiece! Artwork created will be eligible to be displaying during the Historic Ephrata Cloister Student Art Show @ The Library! Ages 10-12.
