Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley: Pennsylvania Sites

Historical Society
All Audiences Open 9/27/2018 11/1/2019

What do you know abut the state you call home? Do you think you know the answers to questions, like:

What honor did William and Hanna Penn receive in 1983? Why does Pittsburgh end in an h? Who created little league Baseball? Who invented the telephone in 1880 (not Bell). Why is 1855 significant to Pennsylvanians? What was significant to Ephrata in 1953?

There are a lot of trivial facts about Pennsylvania in its 338-year History. Al Holiday, Editor of Pennsylvania magazine, will address and answer these questions and a whole lot more in a program presented by the Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley held in the Ephrata Public Library, 550 Reading Road, Ephrata at 7:00 PM on October 23rd. This program is highly recommended for all ages, open to all, and should be highly entertaining as well as informative.

Pennsylvania Magazine is published four times a year and is well noted for its beautiful photographs, stories, events calendar, and photography contests about our Commonwealth.
